Terms of Service

The service

Ontic provides runtime AI governance tooling — infrastructure that checks whether AI-generated claims are backed by evidence before they reach users. Project Scythe provides an automated subscription-monitoring and virtual-card management service that processes financial data through locally hosted inference. Both services are developer and consumer tools, respectively.

Your responsibilities

• You are responsible for how you integrate Ontic into your systems.
• You will not use the service for any unlawful purpose.
• You will not attempt to circumvent governance controls.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and connected financial institution access.
• You will not attempt to reverse-engineer, probe, or exploit the local inference engine or any internal API endpoints.

Financial data and third-party services

Project Scythe integrates with third-party financial data providers (Plaid) and card issuers (Lithic). Your use of these integrations is additionally subject to their respective terms of service. Ontic does not store raw card numbers (PAN) or CVVs; only non-sensitive UUID tokens are persisted.

Data processing and inference

Transaction data is processed by a locally hosted Large Language Model (Phi-4 via vLLM) running in an air-gapped internal subnet. Raw financial data and receipt context are processed locally and never transmitted to external third-party inference APIs.

Limitations

Ontic reduces the risk of unsupported AI claims but does not guarantee perfection. Project Scythe provides automated subscription detection but does not constitute financial advice. You remain responsible for the outputs of your AI systems and any financial decisions made using our tools.

Account deletion

You may request full account deletion at any time through the application settings. Deletion is immediate, irreversible, and cascades to all linked data including financial access tokens, subscription profiles, and virtual card records. Active virtual cards will be transitioned to a CLOSED state prior to record destruction.
